(That's not to say that is the motivation of ALL breeders trying to produce partis.)

Biewers I can kind of understand due to the need to cover costs of importing from Germany and the higher than normal amount of researching and testing breeders are doing since they are a new variation of dog. Costs have to be covered somehow.
What we charge today for parti yorkies is partially due to the prices we had to pay for our dogs. When a breeder has invested $7,000.00 - 10,000.00 in a breeding pair of parti's, they shouldn't be expected to sell their pups at traditional yorkie prices. That doesn't make them unethical - they have their costs (initial investment, shipping, testing, etc.) that need to be recovered too, just as the Biewer breeders do.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are plenty of unethical breeders of off colored, as well as standard colored yorkies. I don't agree with the breeders who are charging $1500 - $2000.00 or more, above what the average parti prices are but personally, I would pay an extra $2000.00 if the pup was the type and quality dog that I'm searching for. But that's just me ... not everyone seems to have that same philosophy?
