Roscoe, my english springer spaniel, is the same way. He gets so excited when people come over. He weighs 40lbs though, so it is not so cute! I have a crate in my living room so when people come over he goes in there for a few minutes until he has time to calm down. That way he is still a part of things, but he can't maul my visitors.
