I completely agree with you and I had never looked at it that way. I've alway preferred AKC simply because they are the most reputable IMO even though I don't agree with
everything they do- they are the best option to me. What I had never considered is when breeders register litters with these alternative registries, they really are supporting stolen breeding rights in a way, since most of these registries came about to circumvent AKC rules. Great point!
ETA- To clarify, I am not vilifying every breeder who registers with AKC alternatives. I don't think they are all intentionally doing something wrong but maybe just haven't considered what they are supporting.
