First and foremost I *firmly* believe that people come in to our lives for a reason, so the opposite would be true as well: we come in to others' lives for a reason too.

I can barely grasp how truly amazing, wonderful, and miraculous it was that you even saw Curtis! And that you were able to help him, with so much going on! : You should feel so proud that you not only responded but did such a great job!

I'm so glad to hear that he's doing as well as he is. Nothing even close to this accident, but I've been in 3 major car accident, each time where our car was totaled. One wound up being a 6 car pile-up/crash, with 5 of those cars crashing in to the driver side of the car (my Mom was driving). They thought for sure she had neck injuries and internal injuries. Believe it or not, while she was cut up and not very pretty looking (of course I think she's beautiful but not beauty pageant quality by any means with cuts and blood and tubes at that time), she only had a mild concussion! (Though she's sustained minor injuries/blows/impact to her head in the two most recent and I do believe her memory is slightly off from that...)

The interesting part between that accident and Curtis' is that both him and my Mom were dedicated to some predetermined activity. Him visiting his Dad and going in to the military, while my Mom told the paramedics the entire time she was cooking diner (lasagna) that night... I'd like to think that a person's willpower to live, even if for something as mundane as cooking a big dinner is strong enough to make at least mall miracles happen. Just image the power of positive thoughts by others!

Anyway, I'm glad to hear Curtis is doing as well as he is and I will keep him in my thoughts!
I believe everything happens for a reason, but honestly, I'm not a proud person, I mean, not when it comes to anything I do in helping others, I just feel it's the right thing to do, it's human and anyone in their right mind would help anyone in that situation. I don't feel like a hero, an angel or anything like that, I just did a human thing & I just want Curtis to be ok and heal and be able to get on with his life as normally as possible. I don't know, maybe I'm weird but that's just how I feel. Thank you for your kind words though, they mean a lot. WOW, you and your Mom are so lucky!! Being in so many accidents and not having really serious injuries, boy God was with the both of you for sure!! I'm really glad you both ,ade it through and are still alive today to have "lasagna" dinners together when you choose to, that's AWESOME! I know Curtis has a very strong will to live, it amazes me how he was even able to crawl out of there with the injuries he has. We're calling his parents tomorrow to see if it's ok that we go visit him at the hospital, if we get to, I'll up date on how he's doing.
