Sorry to be OT but I can answer this one. This is something we used to do when I was a kid. I was a really nice kid and an animal lover like I am now so I have no idea why this didn't strike me as sadistic at the time but we just thought it was a pretty neat trick.
Take ants and drown them. You can do this by putting them in a bowl and dropping water on them until they stop struggling. Leave them in there until you think they are dead. I don't think we ever waited longer than about 5 minutes. Take ants out and pour a little mountain of salt over them. In a few seconds or so, the ants will come crawling out. It's a miracle!
