I appreciate the information My newest puppy has been sick he had so much going on, took him to the park, he had his vaccines 9 week old, he had coccidia when I got him, my daughter dropped him out of her arms he landed on a rock on his side. he only fell 1 foot but still falling for a little yorkie is bad, he wasn't hurt too bad but he yelped upon falling, he got up and ran right back into her arms.
He recently was hospitalized for bloody diarrhea and vomiting. His albumin was low so he was given Plasma proteins, upon picking him up on Monday and taking him to my regular vet his blood was drawn for further work up and a BAT he is only 11 weeks old. It was elevated.
He was given further plasma on Monday went home that night and I took him back the next day. He is eating and energetic.
I have always listened to my vet about getting the vaccines. I live on 2 acres of land where my dogs can run all over.
he didn't think these problems were brought on by the vaccines. He was getting fed eukanuba and I was switching him over to Royal canin food.
I just lost one yorkie May 5th and I am so nervous this one is sick. My daughter cried thinking he would need surgery for Liver shunt? I know time will tell. The vet was trying to figure out why the episode of vomiting and diarrhea where it sprang up from. I have talked to the breeder and she informed me she has never had a puppy ill like this from the two parents. she is terribly concerned.
I have appreciated getting the information in which is provided here on this forum. It has enriched my knowledge and helped ease my concerns. |
