Oh!! I haven't been there (my dd always thought she was a starlet- lol) - but I had a friend who went thru this with recital for 3 years and then her daughter finally blossomed. By high school she was the one choreographing and serving in leadership for the swing choir. They do come around.
I really think a book is in order about Maddie's life - actually I think it would be a great children's book or a happy tale for adults about how much happiness one bundle of fur can bring to so many people. Let me know if you need help writing it
