give the pup a puppy cut but even after 6 mos and a puppy cut that hair will

"Why is the Yorkie the hardest dog to house train??" At that moment I thought,
oh no it's a Shih Tzu. Don't let that discourage you because if you start out
by only using pee pads or only outside, the pup will come along fine. Don't try
both, they just can't seem to handle it. When they wanted our attention they
would sneeze.....It will always be my second most favorite breed with the Japanese
Chin 3rd. Also they are not as yappy as the Yorkie. All of the breeds have
points we love and some not so great!! Enjoy.
I agree completely with you I have a 14 year old Shih Tzu and if I don't stay on top of her coat it definately gets the best of me. She has never completely housebroken. I got her from my sister and she had her trained to papers big mistake. I have never used them on any dogs I have housetrained and never will I teach them immediately to go outside only because of my bad experience with her. Now is even worse. My son will come and tell me need paper towels. She poops all over the house and I know it's hers because she walks so it can be in two different rooms. I trained 2 yorkies and no problems at all.

But all in all they are great dogs. Just like with any animal or people they have good & bad issues. Buit I love her and I know it's just a matter of time before she is gone.
