Rose, I am so very sorry for your loss...I am also so very leery of a vet who would suggest fasting a A-sympotmatic litter of puppies, some under 2 pounds..and then drawing the amount of blood needed for a BA..
Simply make a contract stating you will pay for a 6 month BA test and you will refund the puppy cost if it has a shunt..they can keep the puppy.
PS.... I only fast a 3 to 4 pound adult for 6 hrs before a dental or S/N etc... |
i can not blame my vet she did not want to do it i blame myself i do now know what can happen with this kind of testing on pups
the only bright side is i know they are clear at this point and time but who knows as an adult dog
i agree under 6 months it just not a thing to do
and for the people who want the tiny guys that are only 2 pound as an adult watch what you ask for because they are still not safe at that size for testing
