I used to show my yorkies, and I witnessed a lady who burned her dogs skin with hair dye...and the shade was not right so she dyed it and burned it again! Just to get a show point...it made me sick!
Dyeing a dog is against the rules in AKC. That handler should be reported. If a judge suspects the dog has been dyed, you as the owner can be suspended from showing. The handler is not in trouble, so to protect your own AKC rights, you need to report the handler and find an ethical one. If you report the problem, you are not going to get into trouble, but the handler will be suspended. They have strict rules.
