You are all wonderful people. I will make sure my friend provides me the information and lets her know of your interest. I would take one in a minute, but we already have 20 creatures on our 6 acres out here in the country. My husband and I could never turn one away and are sickened at the horror that some of these poor things have been through. In fact, we just took in a medium sized chocolate lab two weeks ago. There's a pond up the road from us on some abandoned property. Three teenage girls who live across the street noticed that a man in a pickup truck drove down to the pond, stayed there an hour and then left - leaving this dog behind. Well, needless to say, people around here know how we are and the girls brought the dog down to us. It was obvious that she just had puppies and had been abused by the way she would cower when you just tried to pet her. She was starving but we've got her in good health now and she's part of the family. I'm certain the man who stayed down by the pond for an hour and then left her most probably drown her pups. I will never understand the cruelty that so many people inflict on animals that depend on us for their very lives. She has just been an angel and we love her up every chance we get - as we do all of our little creatures
