I received a telephone call today from a friend of mine at my previous law firm who is involved in animal rescue groups. The group just rescued six Silky Yorkies from a puppy mill and are looking for foster homes until they can be placed in permanent homes. The group first takes them to the vet to have all of their medical needs taken care of - at their expense. Then, it is my understanding that they will either fly or transport the Yorkie directly to the foster home. They will then endeavor to find permanent homes for these rescued Yorkies. If the group cannot find foster homes as soon as possible, the Yorkies will have to be put down. These Yorkies were rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri.
