I hear what you are saying! 17 years ago I brought home a Lhasa-Poo puppy. My husband looked at her and said "What's that supposed to be?". Well, last August I had to put Maggie down and my husband was totally devastated. He just sobbed. He had grown to adore HIS little girl. Now, he adores our 3 Yorkies, is extremely protective of them and would not tolerate anybody making negative comments on their size. LOL
