Oh no not the ears lol no way!!! I don't think a ultrasound would do you any good, well it would tell you if the puppies are alive. As for the x-rays I would wait until it's almost time doing it too early wouldn't give you a good count since the skulls would not show too good on the x-rays and you wouldn't want to expose your pups to too many x-rays.
