Aw, no! You poor creatures. There is some controversy around this subject - and I wish I could find the links. But, the thing is - a bug is a bug is a bug. Salmonella is salmonella. Staph is staph. E.coli is e.coli. There ARE bugs that morph, of course, and are then only injurious to certain hosts - but there ARE some that are common. So, yes - there could be something that you both could have right now - what it might be is so hard to say. Sounds like some kind of stomach bug or a bit of food poisoning.
