Funny thing about the Silky is that the AKC recognized it in 1959. The Silky is a mix of an Australian Terrier and Yorkshire Terrier. The AKC recognized the Australian Terrier in 1960 so I guess they technically were within their FSS guidelines (by one year).

I'd have to go look but the fss program isn't that old.

That's the first step in having a breed recognized.
