I usually wipe my furbabies' faces off right after eating and before they go to bed. Chipper usually had more tangles in his hair than my others because he has longer hair. After I dampen the face hair I use a fine comb and gently, starting at the end, comb the tangles out. I also use the comb part of any eyebrow brush to clean the gunk from his eyes. To comb the rest of his hair I spray a detangler on and comb through the hair. Most of the time I have read that it is okay to bathe your Yorkie once a week as long as you use a pet shampoo that is gently and a conditioner. Just lately I read about watering down conditioner and leaving it in if your furbaby has coarse cottony hair. I have one. Tried that method and his hair was marvelous. Some have talked about leave-on Pantene conditioner. You could do a "search" and I'm sure you would find many, many threads about bathing. Good luck with your new furbaby.
