I don't know much about breeding either, but here's two links that I suggest you read. It's probably not a very good idea to breed your dog, unless he is one of the finest examples of the breed there is. Then perhaps, he should become a "working" dog instead of a pet. After you do your research, you may find that having your dog stay just a pet is preferable because once they start to breed they are no longer as interested in you, but more interested in mating. I think doing the nasty is called "mating" or "tying."
