Default Better Safe Than Sorry! A Bit More Info

Hi

i was reading about your concerns for your puppy. I am so happy he is feeling better. he is really adorable!

I was wondering...not wanting to come across overly cautious..yet this is SO important...I am speaking about taking the puppy out and about before he has had all of his shots (series of 4 injections).

Did the breeder, whom you got your baby from, warn you about this? You see the puppies are so vulnerable to "Parvo" , all the way up until they have had their last shot. Parvo is such a terrible , highly contagious disease. It is a killer..especially to puppies. Then when you consider how tiny Yorkie puppies are, this makes them even more susceptable to this devistating disease. Parvo can be transmitted by many different avenues. If you allow your puppy to be on the ground, on grass , where a dog with parvo has been, If someone has been to a pet shop(or anywhere) where they have had contact with a sick puppy, and then they just touch your puppy, there is a high chance that your baby will contract the disease.

It has been proved over and over that they are not totally protected from "parvo" until they have had the complete series of (4) shots.

I do realize that this sounds extreme, yet , if you read online about Parvo...you will see that what I am saying is generally agreed to by people who breed and own dogs. The symptomes start with vomiting, bloody diahrrea, they succumb quickly.

I just thought I would tell you, in case you didn't know. It is obvious that you love your baby Yorkie very much and I know you want the best for him.
