I strongly suggest you do not leave a muzzle on your dog for any length of time. They are for aggressive dogs that pose a danger of biting and NOT for dogs that bark. Believe it or not -- dogs can bark through muzzles. A proper muzzle will prevent a dog from biting. therefore they still have the ability to bark just as loudly as they would when they are not wearing one.

You need to get to get to the route cause of your dogs barking problem. Although some dogs bark because they like the sound of their own voice, most bark for a reason. The most common reason dogs bark is through boredom. Barking is a dogs way of amusing itself when it is bored or lonely. You might want to take a closer look at your dogs exercise regime and how much quality time you spend with him.
As long as your dog isn't doing the excessive barking during "quiet hours" (generally between 7 am and 9 pm) your CLIENTS can just suck it up. It's a dog, it's going to bark sometimes! Let that poor puppy be and please refer to him by his name and not "it"
