Admin does a wonderful job but they simply cannot monitor what goes on YT 24 hours a day. What you see when you log on...threads being closed...chances are they were closed for personal attacks. Yes, there are sometimes portions of the thread that are deleted. I got called a bit** by someone a couple of times on a thread and not only was it closed but her comments were deleted, too.
I've never seen a political thread that said that we could bash others as long as it wasn't a YT member. This is a g-rated site although sometimes it get's to be a pg site. To those that like to bash others and talk trash, there are other forums that you can do that on since they don't monitor as closely. You can even talk trash about people that aren't there to defend themselves.
I too don't always catch the controversial threads. Lots of times they are closed before I can get there and I think, "Wow! I could have said something". But that's okay. You can't catch them all.
I don't consider closing of threads censorship. Lots of people get hurt and it's sad when you go from disagreeing with something to out right name calling. It happens more often then you realize...since you're sleeping
