Sorry noone has answered as of yet. Hopefully someone that has been in your similar situation and come along and give you some tips.

Do you live alone? Will there not be someone else who could let her out while you're not there? Not sure what the max is that they should be in the crate at a time and not sure if the doggie door would work yet. If she/he is really young, they would need supervision at all times.

If you live alone and going to be gone for a long period of time, I would opt for a large space, such as a med/large xpen or kitchen with babygate at the entryway. Place wee wee pads in one corner and her bed, toys & water in another and just try to wee wee pad train her for now. You can train her to also go outside as time allows (providing you have noone else at home to help).
