i think the best thing to do would be to start off by finding a reputable breeder in your area to mentor you. learn all you can, help out, and get some real experience before going into this on your own.

this can be a very expensive as well.. so keep that in mind. as well as time consuming. are you in school? work?
ive learned that breeding is definately a family experience... you arent the only breeder... EVERYONE in the house ends up playing a part in it.

that being said. i dont think i would buy from a 17 year old breeding on their own, however.... if it were a 17 year old breeding along with an established mentor, or with a recomendation of a breeder that had been working with them... then i MAY consider it after lots of questions were asked.
