Diarrhea after whelping is fairly common. One cause could be eating the placentas but another cause could be a outbreak of coccidia from the stress of having puppies. I always give my mommas and other yorkies Diarsanyl for diarrhea. I order it from Revival Animal Health. If the diarrhea is caused from coccidia then it could be passed to the puppies if they come in contact with the feces (if any is on mommas coat). It would take about 3 weeks or more before the pups would start showing symptoms. Please keep us posted on how she is doing.
