Squeekie was a bit cranky this morning but I think it was because she had dried poop in her butt! So I washed her before heading to the office. She seemed fine, she was walking around like she normally does watching me get ready and she didn't have a fever.
I wish my vet has 24/hr service. There is an emergency vet near us but their fees are astronomical! When I took Squeekie there a long time ago for constantly vomiting, they charged me $700 just to get her hydrated and we still had to go to our regular vet in the morning for some meds. |
I have learned to do subq fluids myself at home. It's really easy and can save them from being hospitalized when they are dehydrated. I prefer to do this since most vets aren't staffed at night so patients are left alone.
Lady is my first little dog and I am still amazed how quickly toy breeds can dehydrate.
