Ellie's vet office has a sign that says heartworm and flea meds should be given year-round. I guess I would be more willing to listen to them if they didn't put flea medicine on there. Who would medicate their dog for fleas in the winter? So I just do what I think is best. That is, I use it (heartworm med) for 6-8 months. I'm not sure if the dose is exactly even in the pills, so I would not feel comfortable cutting them.
Could someone call Merial and ask if it is okay to cut the regular Heartgard (not Plus)? I'm tired of talking to companies that don't seem to care...
