I am so thankfull for everyones advice-information. I was able to catch this before it became a big problem. Angels teats are still irritated from the pups nails. I took her to the vet yesterday and he started her on Ceph a drops and she is 90 % better. She has her energy back and appetite has stayed good. I have just added some plain yogart for her since the antibiotic, I have made her whelping pudding with lactose free milk. she hasn't had diarrhea since. I had been giving her cottage cheese too much cottage cheese, after she whelped the pups and she had eaten 4 placentas. She hasn't went back to laying down to feed the pups yet without assistance. Otherwise she stands or sits to nurse them. Any way since the swelling ( with the bumps or dimpled appearance) didn't start right away then it was hard to spot. I had convinced the redness, and purplish appearance to her teats was just superficial irritation from having 7 puppies and their nails. |
