Our eldest dog, Barney, could no longer jump off the bed safely and he became restless as he got older. So, we built him a ramp up to the bed and put a doggie bed on the floor for him. The ramp has been a life saver. Also, we close the bedroom door so they do not roam thru the house during the night. We love having them sleep with us.
