I just rescued a Yorkie from a dog pound and he has terrible kennel cough. He is about 9 years old, is deaf, and almost totally blind. He's a pretty big boy, about 8 or 9 lbs and had all his shots at the dog pound before I got him, but not the bordettello shot. I have him isolated from my other babies until the cough goes away. He sleeps most of the day, but when he wakes up he starts with the racking cough and sneezing. My heart hurts for him! I, too am unsure whether to go the homeopathic or antibiotic route. We see the vet Friday, but if anyone has any ideas for relief in the interim I would greatly appreciate it. He has his own bedroom right now so I could do the humidifier thing. I also wonder if he may have allergies, and if there is anything at my local health food store I could use?
