Exercise is the answer. A long walk in evening. Sampson will be restless all night if he hasn't gotten enough activity to tire him out. It takes a lot to tire out some of these Yorkies. Daisy sleeps great without much exercise. Some dogs just are just high energy.
Also, I use an upholstered cube as a step next to the bed for them to let themselves up and down. I refuse to pick them up and put them down off the bed all night long.
