Thank you all. I feel much better now.

Oh, and there was no way it was 80 degrees in the car. On warmer nights this may happen, but it was in no way a warm night. It was cool enough out that I needed a sweatshirt... even in the car (after leaving them and coming back). There was a nice cool breeze out.

For those of you who show concern about my decision to leave them in the car period, I understand where you are coming from but I have already given serious thought about my decision. I live in a very nice town with little to no crime. Any crime that does occur is usually college kids drinking and smoking pot. There is no "bad" side of town. Like I said, they are always in my sight and I NEVER leave Epsilon alone. My schnauzer is very protective and lets anyone who even comes remotely close to my car know that they are not welcome. Also, Epsilon is too short to look out the windows so he generally sits on the seat or even the floor so people usually only see the obnoxious barking schnauzer. Now if I lived somewhere else (say Salinas, where I'm from), I probably wouldn't leave them because of the type of town it is.

Anyway, I shouldn't have to defend my decision to leave them in the car... it's not what I was concerned about. I just want to make sure I wasn't being cruel or causing harm to my babies by leaving the windows up on a cool night.
