Our carpet is not quite even 5 years old yet (it was brand new when we bought this house) but I am just like you in that I HATE carpet...and I mean I HATE IT
I swear I would even rip it out of the darn bedrooms if I had my way about it
It's soft and comfy to walk on but man it is just a PAIN, especially with animals (namely the cat who gets hair everywhere!)
I'd rather sweep over the entire house with my new Cordless Shark Sweeper than to drag out that big clunky vacuum cleaner ANY day
But I think you've got the right idea girl....when hubby goes on his hunting trip, go get your floor and have them install it while he's still away, LOL!! That way he won't be able to say too much
