ok... on a PERSONAL level.... I had alopecia when I was a young. Lost LOTS & LOTS of hair, bald spots (baby but smooth) over night... would wake up with them had my last one when I was 12 , thank god!!! BUT... I still loose quite a bit of hair just shampooing...
Anyways.... I just want to send on special thoughts to your baby... as I know personally how "embarrasing" it is to feel not so pretty
I hope they find out what it is FOR SURE and get treatment started soon.
