Bella slept in her crate right next to my bed until I was confident we didn't need to worry about accidents. My husband gets up pretty early (around 4:00am) so after he showers and is dressed they all head downstairs and he lets them outside then and they eat. He then brings them back upstairs to me when he leaves for work. Now that Bella is completely potty trained she sleeps either in our bed or in her bed on the floor depending on her mood but the routine is the same. They can hold it quite a while once they're older (Bella is almost 15 months old) and even this weekend camping she would hold it for 8 hours or more during the night, I'd take her out to do her thing and she'd still have to walk a while and sniff before she'd relieve herself.
