Then when we get him home, do we let him explore the house or keep him in one area at first? I don't want him to be overwhelmed.

Do I put a collar and a leash on him right away? What size collar? How long of a leash? He's only going to be 11 weeks.

I don't know if he's started any potty training or not. I've read some books on that but I'm not sure if he's really old enough to start. Should we just plan on taking him out about once an hour? Can he go all night without going potty?

Thanks a lot. I know that's a lot of questions!
Hey there. How exciting!

Ok, no collars....get a harness. The yorkies are prone to trachea damage with collars.

Yes, take him out for a pee often. If he drinks then wait 20 minutes or so and try. If he didn't go then wait again and try. My yorkie went all night in the crate with no accidents from 8 weeks old...but all yorkies are very different. You may have to get up if he whines. Keep the crate by your bed and so he can see you. Don't let him out as soon as he whines...wait for a lull in whining and then take hime out otherwise you teach him that whining gets him out.
