Cashi's crate is in the livingroom and my bedroom door is right by it. I leave my door cracked at night. He only goes in there to sleep. we leave it open during the day and he has gone in there to sleep. He also has a playpen( a cute little boy baby one!!) that we use when we are unable to watch him. I also have a pee pad in it and his food dishes. When we first got him we had a hard time getting him to concentrate on eating and he was really distracted easily. I hope to eventually do away with the playpen. His crate is small, but I do (I know this is bad) put a pee pad in the back and his fleece blanket up front. He is only about 10 weeks old and I try and get up to let him out and go, but I work nights and when I sleep on my days off, I have a hard time getting up. My plan for next week is to get up at 4:00 am and let him go so that maybe he will not have accidents on his pad and bed. I really have come to the conclusion that it is trial and error.
