To sign or not to sign.....well, my answer is not! Why because some weirdo would probably come along and decide he wants a dog....your dog....a small pet dog.....!
As far as firemen are concerned, and God bless them, there are some that just don't give a hoot whether there is a dog or human....the kind that wouldn't risk their lives for anything or anyone.
Why do I say that, because I had a fireman who did interior painting as a sideline and, coincidentally, the news was on tv and there was a fire where a citizen saved a dog by breaking a window. This half-wit fireman, when I asked, if he ever saved an animal said, "no way would I risk my life for an animal!" So there you have it!
I would be more concerned of theft! Perhaps your neighbors would be able to help in the event, God forbid, such a thing would happen!
