I have never used it outside, but did use it in the carpet and it worked wonderfully left over night and vacuumed up the next day.
I usually spray my yard with Dawn dish soap on a hose sprayer (helps with mosquitos, too) and then sprinkle Cedarcide all over the dog yard on a regular basis. So, far we have been pretty lucky!
