If your female is that much bigger than your male, she's plenty big enough. When you're pretty sure she's pregnant take her into the vet for a check-up. The male could just be fooling around. He might try to dominate (play) but probably not really mate at that age. My Yorkie was around six to seven months old when I had an older female come into heat, nothing happened. Took him to my daughter's as they wanted Morkies...same result. But six months later when my female came into heat again it was a different story. He was still a little shy about it, but he got the job done...four puppies worth - her largest litter ever.
