Males can breed at 8 months of age according to AKC. If your female is 7 lbs she should be fine, but I would work closely with your vet and take his suggestions. Mistakes do happen and most the time they are fixable. Lets just hope your male is to young to be potent and the next time you will be more experienced in knowing when she is in season
