Males can breed at 8 months of age according to AKC. If your female is 7 lbs she should be fine, but I would work closely with your vet and take his suggestions. Mistakes do happen and most the time they are fixable

. Lets just hope your male is to young to be potent and the next time you will be more experienced in knowing when she is in season
