My chihuahua had one of her eyes put out by another dog shaking a rope toy that had a knot on each end. Then two years later she developed glaucoma and had to have monthly tests with an ophthalmologist and was on two types of medication for over a year before that eye ulcerated and had to be removed. She did just fine with one eye and just fine with no eyes. She didn't seem to mind at all and was still very happy, outgoing and didn't lose her appetite. She was such a little piglet.
