anyway, my question is both my husband and i work full time (8 to 5). we come home for lunch to let him run around, feed him, and use the restroom. i walk him in the morning and sometimes at night too and after work, i try to let him be outside of the crate as much as possible (unless i can't closely supervise him). he sleeps in his crate at night too.

for those who work during the day, do you keep them on the same crate schedule on the weekends? we have been crating him some on the weekends, i feel like he spends too much time in the crate already, but if he is out all the time he gets into so much trouble and wants to get into everything around the den area we keep him in. any thoughts?
I would continue with the crate training on the weekends but you don't have to keep him in the crate as long. Since you're at home he comes out more frequently. He's still young and still needs the repetition of the whole concept of crate training. Once he's completely potty trained the crate will only need to be used as a safe place for him to be when you're away from home or possibly sleeping. We used the crate training method with Bella and it works great, you just don't want to let up too early or he could regress. It sounds like you guys are doing a great job
