That's always a concern, especially for a first time mother. By two weeks of age the puppies will be surprisingly strong and mobile. One risk is if mom's in full coat a puppy can get tangled in the coat. You might want to use a baby playpen ( pack n play) with a box inside that the puppies can't get out of but mommy can. This will give her the chance to get a break if she needs it but keep her with the puppies. Her food and water should be safely out of reach of the newborns.
