I rented a basement apartment when I went away to school when I was 18. I once woke up one morning to find my landlord IN THE KITCHEN moving furniture around! She tried to make my roommate and I pay extra money per person if we had any overnight guests - even if it was family visiting us! We had a separate entrance but there was a door that connected our kitchen to her living room, so she waltzed right in whenever she felt like it! Talk about BAD LANDLORDS!!! Needless to say... I did not stay long.
It could be much worse — try to talk to your landlord about setting hours for using the washer/dryer. Hopefully she'll be understanding!
