When did he have his last bowel movement? Have you been giving the lactulose 3x a day? Remember that the total amount you give per day is dependent on him having 2 soft stools per day. He should not be having bloody mucousy stools though. Is the blood red, red or is it more blackish? Has he been vomiting at all?
If he is having diarrhea, then cut back on the total amount of lactulose per day, but continue to break the dosage up into 3x a day. If he's only going once a day, then lactulose needs to be increased. Your vet should be able to help you with this.
Have you changed anything in his diet?
Going to the vet would be a good idea...
