 Take them Everywhere You Can?
We used to live right next door to the "Dog Park" and I used to take all 3 (at one time I had 5 Yorkies) of my Yorkies every day at least once a day, sometimes even twice a day. I only take them once a week now. I also walk them around a Lake, where they are allowed to meet new People & Dogs.
Now that it is Summer time I also walk them at the Beach.
I take them any where Pets are allowed, they like "Parading" in their clothes.
They spend alot of time in my car, when I run errands weather permitting of course. I try to teach them my Friends names, their Pet's names and where we are walking to. I beleive every situation is an opportunity to "Socialize" and every time they experience something or a new place is a chance to "Train" them. The more they do different things, the more confident they become. |
