That's the point...she is an adult, she didn't want any "help". She was being held against her will. Whether you agree with their life style or beliefs or not...she hadn't done anything criminally wrong. She's not the only adult they forced into foster care...there were like thirty some women...only 1 was under the age of 18...and one was as old as 27.
There was a group of women who wanted out...those women left voluntarily.
I think the government in it's zeal to "get" something on this Jeff's group...mucked the entire thing up.
