Corn and corn gluten are known allergens and are just fillers. The corn gluten was one of those ingredients from the deadly recalls last year. I would personally stay away from any brand that had corn in it. Yucky eyes are NOT NORMAL and your vet unfortunately doesn't seem to be well informed on nutrition.
Most of the other ingredients in the kibble seem ok but the corn gluten would keep me away from it.
Just read the ingredients on whatever you decide to feed and stay away from corn, wheat or soy and by-products.
