I don't know WHAT vet you're going to but I would highly reccomend NOT taking that advice. First off, at that age it is EXTREMELY important they eat everyday. If you can't get the puppy to eat hard puppy food, go buy afew cans of canned food. Most dogs rarely ever resist canned food. They can die if they don't get the correct nutrience at that fragile age and weight. Your vet is obviously not experience with small dogs!!! And I am a GROOMER. You can bathe your dog up to as much as everyday even if you use the right shampoo and conditioner. Bouncer gets bathed every 3 to 4 days and has NOT ONE SINGLE skin problem. Perfect condition I must say. So I wouldn't listen to what your vet is saying, especially on the food. It is VITAL that your puppy gets nutrition. Just be harsh about not feeding from your hand. Get some canned food and place it on a plate on the floor. Give it one bite on your finger to taste, then entice it to eat the rest on it's own. Eventually, the pup will give in. But PLEASE don't let this dog go 4 days without eating. You just might be paying for it with a hole in the ground with your puppy's name on it and I know you and your family don't want that.
